Baked Rice

Wendy & Doug asked us to post this recipe. We have learned that taking the time to bake rice is the only way to go when you need this side dish staple. It's perfect every time!

1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice (we prefer Jasmine)
2 1/4 cups water
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon salt

With rack at middle position, pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Spread rice in 8" square glass baking dish.

Bring water, butter and salt to a boil in covered medium saucepan over high heat. Once boiling, stir to combine and pour over rice.

Cover tightly with a double layer of foil. Bake the rice until tender, 40-50 minutes. Remove from oven, uncover and fluff with a fork. Re-cover and let stand 10 mins then serve.
